Youth Basketball Association (YBA)
2026–2027 Season
Fun, Skills & Teamwork!
At GMYMCA YBA, players develop basketball skills, build confidence, and have fun while learning teamwork and leadership. Players should bring a water bottle, wear their program shirt, and sneakers.
Open to Members and Non-Members! Non-members must create a YBA Non-Member account to register.
Season Dates
Season Starts Earlier this Year: November 9 – February 13
This program is proudly led by Coach Kenny Smith, who has been the heart of YBA for the past four years.
New This Season
- 2nd Grade Boys Evaluation: 2nd Grade Boys will have an evaluation this year to determine teams on October 17, 2026 from 10:00am–11:00am. Attendance is highly recommended.
- Volunteer Coach Clinic: Coach Kenny will be holding a coaching clinic before registration opens for all those interested in applying to be a volunteer coach. Date is TBD.

Opens: September 22 at 8:00am | Closes: October 13 at 8:00pm

Important Season Information​
- All games are at the YMCA on Saturdays only: 79 Horsehill Road, Cedar Knolls, NJ.
- Practices are once a week, Monday through Thursday, at either the Main Y or the Y-Zone, located at 25 Saddle Road, Cedar Knolls, NJ.
- Practice schedules will be released by the volunteer coaches closer to the first week of practice.
- Group maximums will be strictly enforced for safety. No buddy requests accepted.
- There will be no Saturday games on December 12 or December 26 this year.

We are seeking volunteer coaches at all grade levels.

Travel Teams
Travel basketball begins at the 3rd/4th Grade level. Tryouts for 3rd/4th Grade, 5th/6th Grade, and 7th/8th Grade teams will be held in October.
