The Greater Morristown YMCA is proud to announce that from February 1st to the 29th we will be collecting specific essential toiletry items (new and unopened) for the Jersey Cares First Night Program! A box will be set up in the lobby. Please see the list below of the essential items needed.
About the Jersey Cares First Night Program:
You will be helping individuals in need that live in New Jersey by providing with essential toiletry items for their ”first night" at a shelter or transitional home. Jersey Cares takes the donated items and assembles them into “kits" for each person. They are then distributed to various agencies such as domestic violence shelters, runaway safe havens, foster homes etc.
Items ACCEPTED for First Night Kits include:
Shampoo
Conditioner
Soap and body wash
Lotion
Toothpaste
Toothbrushes
Deodorant
Combs and brushes
Travel-size tissues
Chapstick
Socks
Underwear
Items NOT ACCEPTED for First Night Kits include:
Razors
Clothing (new or used)
Alcohol-based items such as mouthwash, perfumes, or body mists
Toys
Used or opened items
Food
