Rock Steady Boxing is a non-contact boxing program specifically designed for individuals with Parkinson’s disease. The program is aimed at improving quality of life through exercise, functional movement, and a strong sense of community support
About Rock Steady Boxing
Rock Steady Boxing (RSB) is a fitness program that combines traditional boxing techniques with exercises tailored to address the unique challenges faced by individuals living with Parkinson’s disease
Founded in 2006, the program was developed to help participants:
- Improve physical abilities
- Enhance overall quality of life
- Build confidence
- Foster a supportive community among those affected by Parkinson’s
Key Features
Non-Contact Training - Participants engage in boxing drills without hitting one another. Instead, they work with punching bags, mitts, and other equipment to build strength, speed, endurance, and agility
Tailored Exercises
Classes incorporate exercises that focus on improving balance, coordination, strength, flexibility, and overall fitness. Workouts are designed to challenge participants while maintaining a safe and supportive environment
Community Support
Rock Steady Boxing fosters camaraderie and connection. Participants often find motivation, encouragement, and emotional support by being part of a community facing similar challenges
