ACTIVE LIVES FOR OLDER ADULTS
Older adults, individuals 55 and above, are a significant and growing segment of our communities. All seniors benefit from engaging in Y activities that enhance connections, decrease a sense of isolation, and improve overall well-being. Maintain your health and functional ability with programs designed especially for the needs of Seniors. We begin to lose bone density, balance and coordination as we age. The good news is that there is something we can do about it! Strength training and creating a fitness regime can deter or prevent these issues from occurring. Our Active Older Adult classes will teach you how to build muscle strength, endurance and increase mobility. Everyday activities will become easier, posture will improve and you’ll look and feel great! Arthritis Exercise Program
This class is designed to help participants improve joint flexibility and increase range of motion. Under the guidance of a certified Arthritis Foundation instructor, you will learn exercises to maintain muscle strength, decrease pain and increase overall stamina. Classes are free with membership. A gentle form of yoga that is practiced sitting on a chair, or standing using a chair for support. Seated and standing postures designed to increase flexibility, balance and range of movement. Restorative breathing exercises and final relaxation will promote stress reduction and mental clarity. Classes are at our 6 Saddle Road facility.
This class is for people seeking low-impact exercise to help alleviate pain and stiffness. A certified instructor leads range of motion, stretching, breathing exercises and light aerobics exercises.

Lo Impact Aerobics
Exercises during which you always have one foot on the floor, minimizing the landing force of your feet on the floor. This low intensity activity can still significantly raise your heart rate to the point where it benefits your cardiovascular and respiratory system.
Days: Wednesdays & Fridays, 8:15AM
NIA tones your mind and tunes your body. Each workout brings mindfulness to your dance movement experience leaving you energized, mentally clear and emotionally balanced. NIA cardio-dance workouts combine 52 simple moves with dance arts, martial arts and healing arts to get you fit in 60 minutes in body, mind, and spirit. NIA is practiced barefoot, non-impact and adaptable to individual needs and abilities. Classes are free with membership.
This popular sport is for all ages and athletic abilities. Pickleball combines elements of tennis, badminton and ping pong. Play as singles or doubles. Check the gym schedule for times.
Senior Stretch and Strength
Move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase the muscular strength & range of movement for activities for daily living. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles & a ball are offered for resistance. A chair may be used for seated and/or standing support.
An ancient Chinese tradition that is practiced as a graceful form of exercise. It involves a series of movements performed in a slow, focused manner and accompanied by deep breathing.
