Attending a class with others who are motivated to get fit and have fun will inspire you to keep healthy and try something new every time you come into our Y! With over 120 classes offered each week, you're sure to find a class to fit your interest and fitness level. We have three fitness studios - a traditional aerobic studio with wooden flooring, a dance studio and a 40 bike spin room. Try one today!

Introduction to Personal Training
Are you tired of working out and not getting results? Have you been curious about our Personal Training program?
The Greater Morristown YMCA personal trainers are here to help you reach your fitness goals. Your certified trainer will keep your workouts challenging and keep progressing each session to meet your current fitness level and improve your overall health. We would like to help you achieve your goals. This package consists of 3 private 1 hour (or 6 half hour) sessions with a Certified Personal Trainer for only $120. As always, before starting any new fitness routine it is important to consult your doctor.
Please note: this program is for members NEW to personal training at The Greater Morristown YMCA. Please note, this intro class can only be purchased once.

NEW Fall 2019 Brain Training: The Key to a Happier, Healthier Life
Do you live with constant stress? Do you wrestle with negative thoughts? Are you at the mercy of your emotions? Do you react and then think about the impact? New information from brain science tells us, "It's time to turn things around!" We have developed a simple training manual to achieve this and to cultivate habits of contentment, compassion, and peace through changing the way we use our brain. The results of practicing and implementing these mental strategies can result in your feeling confident in managing all areas of your emotional life. Pat Miller, workshop presenter, is a licensed professional counselor, pastoral counselor, and microbiologist. She has presented Skills for Living TM workshops designed to enable clients to be more self-directed in their lives. The workshops are the result of her training and understanding of the new studies in brain chemistry that can provide us with the ability to live healthy and fulfilling lives in the 21st Century. She has 25 years working in private practice in the mental health field. This Fall, Pat is back with three new workshops that can be taken individually or as a complete course. Classes are $30 each and are held at our 6 Saddle Road facility, located around the corner from the Greater Morristown YMCA. Please register at the Greater Morristown YMCA's Member Services Desk.
Workshop # 1: Emotional Fitness
This class is your invitation to intentionally cultivate your brain in ways that activate the systems inside you that promote your happiness and contentment. When: 10.02.19 (Wednesday) from 10:30am to 11:30am OR 7:00pm to 8:00pm.
Workshop # 2: There is Nothing Either Good or Bad, But Thinking Makes It So....
Learn to calm the critical voice in your head. Develop skills to take charge of the "chattering" mind that is always telling you what you should think, feel, say, or be. When: 10.16.19 (Wednesday) from 10:30am to 11:30am OR 7:00pm to 8:00pm.
Workshop # 3: Goodbye Stress, Hello Living
Stay balanced through crisis and change. Learn methods to reduce the unhealthy and unproductive time you spend feeling stressed. When: 10.30.19 (Wednesday) from 10:30am to 11:30am OR 7:00pm to 8:00pm.
NEW! Fall 2019 Evolve Fitness for Living: Parkinson's Wellness & Fitness
Evolve Fitness for Living is a wellness and fitness program designed to empower those living with Parkinson's Disease and other chronic diseases. This program is designed to optimize physical function and help delay the progression of symptoms. We are striving to aide in enhancing daily quality of life by building power, strength, flexibility, and gait. Note: If necessary, participants can use chairs for support and increase the weight they use for strength training at their own pace. This specialty program will engage you physically and socially to strengthen the whole person. Classes will take place in our fitness studio located at 6 Saddle Road in Cedar Knolls (around the corner from the YMCA). All participants must pre-register. This program will run 8 weeks and meets twice a week. Days/times cannot be interchanged. You either register for the morning OR afternoon session.
Fee: $90 for GMY Members
$200 for Non-Members
Days: Option 1: Tuesday & Thursday mornings from 8:15am to 9:15am
Option 2: Mondays & Wednesdays from 1:00-2:00pm
Week of 10.20.19 to Week of 12.08.19 - there will be no class held on 11.28.19 due to the Thanksgiving Day holiday. This class will be held on 12.19.19 instead.
Healthy Heart & Wellness Program
This three-month program is open to anyone but specifically designed for those who want to improve or maintain their heart health, whether or not they have had surgery or a cardiac event. Participant's vitals are monitored closely and the class includes walking, light weights, and flexibility. Registration is required. Non-members welcomed.
Fee: $100 for GMY Members
$200 for Non-Members
Days: Mondays: 10:00-11:30am (unmonitored). Room is closed to only HH participants.
Session: 09.30.19 to 12.27.19 (no class Friday, 11.29.19)
TRX Suspension Training
Suspension training bodyweight exercise develops strength, balance, flexibility and core stability, simultaneously. Your core will constantly be challenged to stabilize your movements against the forces of gravity. 6-week sessions. Registration is required.
Fee: $65 for the 6-week session
Session 1: 09.16.19 to 10.21.19
Session 2: 10.28.19 to 12.2.19
Intense Cardio Circuit Training
Pressed for time? This fast-paced class gives a total body workout. Basic and advanced strength training moves are blended with agility and balance exercises to optimize your time in the gym without putting too much stress on your joints. Class meets in the Circuit Room and is led by Certified Instructors/Personal Trainers. Registration is required.
Day: Fridays from 9:15am-10:00am
Session: 10.04.19 to 12.27.19 (no class on Friday, 11.29.19)
